Student Led Conference Term 3 & Science Fair

On the 25th of July, we had Student Led Conference. Student Led Conference is when your parents come to school and talk about your report. My mum came in and we went in a bit early because her stomach was sore. I showed her around the classroom of my art work and my science diorama. I also shared her my writing about pollution and the chain about kinas, seaweed and fish. After that, I grabbed a iPad and showed her where my learning was in the beginning of the year and where I am at now/ goals. My goal was to be confident. Then, my teacher and my mum had a chat and since my mum can't speak English, her friend came along. She asked her about how I needed to join a sports team and just give things a go.

Smart Relationship

Smart Relationship

What I think smart relationship means is....
-Making the right choices on who you are talking to
-Pick wisely on who you are friends with
-Working together as a team and collaborating

What type of qualities would you want in a friend
-Someone who shares the same interest as you
-Someone who is loyal and kind
-Someone who is funny and has a nice personality
-Someone who is smart and cares about me
-Someone who is reliable and respectful

What I Learnt From The Video
Think, feel, balance, listen and stand. Think is when you think before commenting or saying something to someone. Feel is when you are upset, they will be there for you and also not being mean or cyber
bullying. Balance is when you balance out how much time you spend outside and how much time you spend online. Stand is when you stand up for someone if they are being bullied and also for yourself.

What I Did During The Holidays

What I Did During The Holidays

In the holidays, I went on a trip to the snow mountains with my family and some of my dad’s friends. The mountain wasn’t in Auckland, it was in Hamilton so I had to sleep early in order to wake up early. When morning came, it was still dark and I could still see the moon.

My dad and I drove to his friends house at around six in the morning and had all of our clothes, blankets, toothbrushes and other things packed inside a bag since we were making many stops and staying at a motel because the snow mountains was a long way away.

We first made a stop at the Lord Of The Rings place which was basically a place with rabbit holes and in it were houses which were the same as the ones in the movie. A nice lady gave
us a tour around the place and I found it quite boring and long. At the end of the tour we got drinks like from the movie and I chose ginger beer which didn’t really taste good.

This next stop was my favourite! We went to SkyLine. SkyLine is a place with different fun rides  like Rainbow’s End. The first ride we got onto was a bike skating ride. The line was very long and I was getting very impatient but it was worth it. When we finally got on the ride, I was excited but scared at the same time. The ride was very fun but at one point, I got stuck and couldn’t move.

After we finished SkyLine, we arrived at the motel at night and it was very cosy! I shared a room with one of my dad’s friends daughter who was about 5 years older than me. I had a bad sleep because it was a bunk bed and I didn’t really want to move so I slept there very uncomfortable and my leg was hurting.

When morning arrived, we got up and straight away drove to the snow mountains and I slept
during most of the ride. The Snow Mountain was huge but it wasn’t that cold. We walked up the mountain and it was my first time seeing snow which was very exciting. We paid to go skiing
and got our gears. I fell down multiple times and my toes were getting cold even though I was wearing covered shoes. At the end, we got some chicken and chips and it was very delicious.

I had a very fun time skiing and going to different new places that I had never been before. It was a great time and I hope I will go there in the next two holidays!

Tracey, your work is awesome! I love how you added lots of punctuation and it is very    interesting. -Alyssa
