My Lockdown Experience
My Lockdown Experience
On 23rd of April we were told that we had 48 hours before the country went into alert level 4 lockdown. People had 2 days to decide where they were going to live during the lockdown. I saw people packing bags in their car going to move. My dad bought lots of food, drinks, candy, ice cream and other stuff.
On Wednesday 25th of March, the official lockdown in New Zealand began. I didn’t really mind the lockdown and first because we got to stay home. Every day, I would set an alarm at 8:30 to get ready for my online class call. I did all my school work online and also did tech online which was very cool. We just did some kahoots, some slide presentations and coding. It was better than attending real school though.
After a few weeks, it was sort of boring, I didn’t have anything fun to do and missed a lot of my friends. I always wished that we hadn’t had to go school but now I realised that school wasn’t such a bad thing after all. You could be around your classmates, learn new things and hang out with friends!

Dear Mr. Paul Wesley, I would like to invite you to come to Auckland and spend the day with me. We will visit the Sky Tower, Auckland Museum and Rainbow’s End. The Sky Tower is a gaming and entertainment company based in Auckland, New Zealand. The Sky Tower is the tallest man-made structure in New Zealand. It is 328 meters long and has breathtaking views. You can do sky jump, sky walk, and there is a cafe inside for when you get hungry. When you visit The Auckland Museum, you can learn the history of New Zealand and lots of interesting, new facts! Rainbow’s End is a theme park in Manukau Auckland. Rainbow’s End has over 20 rides and attractions. There is lots of food and drinks there and is a great place to go to have a lot of fun! Hopefully you accept my invite, we will for sure have a great time!
Kind regards, Tracey

Plastics
Plastics
Have you ever wondered, where do plastics go when you throw them away?
In this explanation writing, we are going to learn all about plastics.
Where do plastics go when you leave them lying around? Well, the plastics
forms into little, tiny pieces by the wind, sun and water which you can only see under a microscope.
The waves carry bits of plastic into the water and stay there for more than 500 years. Then,
The sea animals eat the plastics thinking they are planktons.
The water gets polluted and the animals starve on a full stomach. There are
plastics in the fish which end up onto our plates.
Us humans eat the fish and some of us end up having cancer/asthma.
Instead of selling corn, they use bioplastic to make more plastic.

The Animal In Me
The Animal In Me
There is an animal inside me,
It leaps and twirls at the door of my heart,
It roars when it’s searching for its prey,
It growls when it's ready to attack,
There is an animal inside me,
It pounces at the walls of my mind,
It keeps trying to hide,
When I am alone, the beast inside
me will also feel alone and upset,
There is an animal inside me,
When I am with friends, it tries to impress,
It is like a lion fighting to get out,
I am a tiger,
There is an animal inside me,
Its body is rough and stripey,
Its eyes are as bright as the shimmering stars,
It just won’t leave me alone,
Will I ever be free of this animal inside me?
